They’re translated novels with added illustrations, but each book has a couple of manga-style pages at the front.

not even Surprised?

while this manga is nothing special and one of the weaker isekai its nothing like SAO :/

It may not be, but look at that advertising art and tell me that Kirito and Asuna aren't at least a visual inspiration for that duo.

Uhh, Sword Art Online Novel has benn running since 2009, and its one of the most famous novel, its very clear that the writer of Isekai Cheat Magician got ideas from the story...
Two kids, a boy and girl stuck in a magical, fantsay world - ICM
Two kids, a boy and girl stuck in a fantasy world - SAO
Both places are medival,
A girl and boy became partners as a knight or a warrior - SAO
A girl and boy became partners as a magician or knight - ICM
Both fought together until the end - ICM, SAO
The boy promied that he will protect the girl - ICM, SAO
Similar looking friends and characters in ICM and SAO

SAO came first 4 years before ICM,
ICM copied 70% of the ideas of the story of SAO
But it has some own parts..
