Well, that's definitely a contender for most out-of-left-field manga/anime premise. Don't think I've ever seen the Ig Nobel Prizes referenced in anything else.

Given how they operate, the manga itself may end up getting some sort of award from them in real life. In any case, "can you use a bra as a gas mask" is exactly the type of study that can win one of those "prizes," so they've got that part down.
