I'm disappointed this will more than likely be limited to live-action and not even consider animation. Although Japanese video games seem to have little problem getting an anime adaption if they want one, western games are usually stuck with live-action adaptions. Back in the 80s and 90s we had a lot of cartoon adaptions for games like Earthworm Jim, Sam & Max, Mortal Kombat, Double Dragon, and of course all the Nintendo ones, but those were limited to children and don't happen much anymore. I'm not sure which titles Sony is going to focus on, but I'm sure animation would fit better than live-action for a number of them depending on the games they choose.

Well nothing besides the fact it hasn't been relevant since the Playstation One era and would likely be a product of it's era just like the Ratchet and Clank movie was.
None of which were good or aged well. And as in the case of Sam & Max and Mortal Kombat were drastically different from their source material. |
