It's too bad that it will be delayed for 2 weeks.

We don't know that yet. Crunchyroll is currently listing a notice on the series page saying that "episode 9 will be delayed by at least 9 hours." So I'm under the impression that they found a temporary spot for the show for these two weeks later in the day.

Dangit, Hatsuharu's introduction was one of my favorite episodes from the 2001 series. I was totally looking forward to it.
I wonder how this will affect the simuldub, since that's the version I'm watching.

There's a superior AU version of this week where somebody screws up and Furuba still airs when it was originally supposed to, so a whole bunch of sports fans are roped into watching one of the best episodes of the show and they obviously become fans as well, so viewership for the adaptation skyrockets and the production budget for future seasons swells, and they're able to pay Takaya or whoever enough so that they can use Ritsuko Okazaki's original OP in its final run of episodes.

Never let the dream die.
