Thank you. Guys just enjoy the show it's really not that bad. |
While it's not that bad, it could easily have been far better. No use crying over spilled milk I guess, but you can still learn quite a lot from failure and near miss and sometime that's a lot more interesting than the actual product.

Also, some of us really enjoy talking about shows on the internet, taking them apart to identify what they may have done right or wrong, and theorizing what could have been done to make them better. Hearing other people's thoughts on the topic always helps me get my own feelings in line on the matter, even when they have wildly different reactions to a show. It's part of how I enjoy not only anime, but stories in any medium.
You can see that as enthusiasts who love talking about anime and diving deep into what makes it tick. Or you could see that as blowhards on the internet who like to pretend that they know better than actual anime creators and obsess over minutiae in Japanese cartoons. You decide!

I mean a 2 star rating from the reviewer speaks to the bias against what your trying to say plus you saying earlier you were dropping it. kind of contradicts that but whatever. Shows been good porno episode was absolutely hilarious.

Wait what? What is biased or contradictory about saying that I enjoy taking apart shows online, especially shows that I found to fail in some way, so that I and others can talk about how we would like to improve them if we had the chance?
Shows that are in some way "bad" like Cop Craft (and yeah, that's an opinion that I have and not a fact, I've said as much several times) are the best ones to deconstruct when you are brainstorming about what went wrong and what could have been done to fix them. Hence I often have more to say on shows that I wanted to like but ended up being disappointing than I do on shows that I just flat liked.
Cop Craft is even more pronounced in that regard because it has a few very identifiable failings stapled on top of a show that I really, really want to like for all the other things it does right. So it throws into stark contrast those places where I think it could have been improved to make a genuinely good show.
YMMV as always, but I don't think any of that contradicts giving the show a low rating as it currently is, or deciding that it's unfortunately not the greatest viewing experience right now.

Rather than taking apart or not, it just isn't very interesting to read the same focus and tone several weeks in a row.
But I guess it comes with the job. When a redactor would rather drop the show but they have to keep reviewing it episode by episode, this tends to happen.

Episode 7 had the weirdest, creepiest fanservice I’ve seen in a long time. I’m tempted to make a “cat girl” joke, but it was so much worse. It was an excuse to feature Tilurna’s body inhabited by an animal and featured her urinating in a box (that’s a fetish I didn’t want to see today).
And then there was the party aftermath scene which seemed purposely blurry and out of focus (was it supposed to be smoke?) I did like the goat, though.
I usually like this show slightly more than the consensus, or, at least I thought episode 5 was hilarious and episode 6 was reasonably entertaining, but episode 7 grossed me out. It might have been cute if Tilarna’s body hadn’t been overtly objectified in a sexual way while emphasizing that the mind controlling it was less sentient// in control//intelligent than normal.

Episode 8 is "Smells Like Toon Spirits" -the litter box episode-,Episode 7 was "Girls On Ice"...

I haven't watched the new episodes since 6...guess I'm not in any rush to fix that. I'll have to see what the review is like when it comes out, but eesh. I had such high hopes!

It's been a while since I watched an episode of Cop Craft. Thought I'd give it another shot. My thought process was: hey, tiny chance, maybe it's gotten better! Worst case, if it has continued to go downhill, it should at least be funny to watch in a so-bad sort of way. I mean, that car chase was hilariously bad, right!?
Little did I know. What was waiting for me...was worse than anything I could have imagined.
A CLIP SHOW. AFTER 9 EPISODES. And it only covered the first 4 or so episodes!
Just. Wow. Expectations...exceeded? Whoever is working on this must be literally counting the days until they can move onto greener pastures. Eesh.

So did Andy give up on this show? We haven't had a review for the last 3 episodes and no explanation for the delay.
I'm still enjoying it. As weirdly as they treat Tilarna fan-service wise, she still is allowed moments of dignity and fighting back, rather than simply being humiliated for the sake of humiliating her while she whimpers, like they're doing to Tamaki in Fire Force. So I can usually just roll my eyes and move on, or sometimes even laugh, while the latter really leaves me irritated. I mean, say what you will about the perversity of her using the litter box, she still pulled it off with all the nobility and grace native to every cat worth its whiskers.
In episode 9 I have to say I wasn't buying all the stares she was getting for her swimsuit (other than it being a high school swimsuit) in a hospital. They could've practically walked naked down the hall, stuck together like rutting dogs, and nobody would've batted an eye until they got to the morgue. Hospital workers have seen it all already. Probably goes for cops too. I suppose they could have been staring at her for being an alien after one just shot the candidate, but if that's what we were supposed to think, the writers would've let them change clothes first, and the camera wouldn't have been staring at her butt.
Anyway, they do seem to be developing a nice partnership, so I'm still on board for that. Hopefully the animation will improve when they come back after the recap break. If the story gets more coherent, of course I'd like that too, but that's just icing for me at this point.

Looks that way. The show is no longer listed on the Episode Review master page.

Sorry gang, Andy's got a lot on his plate right now, so we'll unfortunately be cutting the Cop Craft reviews. Dr. Stone reviews will continue as usual.

I've been enjoying the Cop Craft reviews so I'll be sad they'll be cut. But thanks for all your hard work you've done for the episodes you covered, Andy They were very good and well thought out reviews.
