I thought I heard repeatedly that the studio behind the original zoids wild went bankrupt

OLM is one of the largest anime studios. This season alone they're working on Beyblade Burst, Cardfight Vanguard, Cocotama, Gonjiro, Inazuma Eleven, Mix, Pokemon and Yo-Kai Watch.

You might be thinking about Xebec, who worked on the original Zoids anime. That was the only entry they were involved with, though.
