But no, their license expired long before the scandal with Lasseter. It was 2018 when Lasseter got me-tooed. The year before that was when GKIDS got the license, IIRC.
GKids had already been licensing Ghibli films even before then. Disney passed on releasing The Tale of Princess Kaguya and GKids licensed it instead way back in 2014. I believe The Wind Rises was the last Ghibli film Disney released.
