1. Crim does have a full package.
2. It depends on the futanari fetishist. Some want the balls; others don't want balls. It's just one of those things. No balls is more mainstream, but with balls isn't too uncommon.

I do not have any statistics about what percentage of fanart identified as futanari with or without testes. But it is my understanding that futanari weren't the creation of a febrile mind, but the result of the fascination (that predates anime or manga) that humankind has had for hermaphrodites aka humans with more than a single pair of chromosomes that exhibit genitalia from both sexes.

And all three of these get a bit yikes if you actually called someone these. There often still needs to be a name if you want to search it up as a fetish, but otherwise probably more couth to refer to them as either as a feminine boy or a trans girl.

Futanari don't really exist, it is like a Japanese porn/fetish thing, which I could lean on being applicable in this sort of show. Also the word Hermaphrodite, I think the word has mostly been thrown out with regards of humans for "intersex", perhaps because the intention of the word is not generally accurate. But with the word coming from the Greek god, with Crim assumed to be a true one, I think it fits.

Don't know how this looks towards me, but from tags of stuff I have come across, I have seen them referred to as "full-package futanari".

Back onto Crim, they did seem to take the calling themselves a boy to stop potential harassment, while also thinking in a more masculine way for sex despite apparently being more submissive. But also apparently was looking for a more "cool and handsome" partner for the female experience, I think even said such a person would help with attraction with their female bits. Which had me think they may have been fine with a guy if social pressure was not in the way, but still chose a woman regardless.

Personally I just find it kind of funny that in a show supposedly about pushing boundaries and being ~really out there~ with sexual content and imagery it's apparently too cowardly to even consider having one of its main guys bang a dude. Really pushing the envelope there Razz

This is a discussion about a series called Interspecies Reviewers, where a bunch of guys (and one with both) of different species sleep with a bunch of different prostitutes of different magical species. The general I think only human female is an older lady. If people are not getting uncomfortable are we even doing this discussion right?

This episode alone also introduced halfling girls, noted as looking much like children.

As much as it is easy to throw away this series as just mindless fanservice, I like to think it is a nice chance to push the sexuality envelope as long as no one is hurt and there be some respect. Such as Meidri be allowed to stay out of it, or any other girl at the tavern, kind of feels like the litmus test.

There's no rape (Well, you could argue the halfling's situation in this episode was such due to a "miscommunication in BDSM consent" but that's besides the point), and Meidri is only hurt insomuch that she's occasionally creeped out by reviewers' choice of brothel.

Agreed. There's also a hentai out there called Body Transfer that pulls the same dodge, with the male protag swapped into various female classmates, but then only having sex with other girls. At least in that case, there's the defense that he's the only male character, meaning the only dude he could do it with would be someone in his original body (even then, it seems like the most interesting option, and yet it's never even considered).

I know we're speaking about a hypothetical magical fantasy scenario here but being transformed into a girl doesn't necessarily mean a straight guy will start liking men. If it's their original minds and personas they'll still be into women. I mean, there's also been sissy/feminizing versions of that trope where a guy turns into a girl and does like and has sex with men (TSF Monogatari), but that's kinda the thing about erotica, it's all about what the viewer wants and their kinks being fulfilled through it but here it wasn't that kind of kink. From Stunk and Zel's point of view its about experiencing lesbian sex, learning more about pleasuring women, and doing a review.

Huh, are you people even watching this series? Because I do not get where you are seeing this "pushing the envelope". This kind of comments is like going into a thread of a BL show and asking "where is my yuri?" or viceversa. By said train of thought Ranma 1/2 would be a "wasted opportunity" since the gender bender protagonist never dated any of the males in the series.

If this series were to do a 360º no doubt one of the manga readers would had already come to this thread to tell everybody. But as it has been already said, at its core this series is about some guys (with different tastes) rank a series of fetishes, because they are not ranking the specific girls or the establishments where they work.

So I suppose the progression of the series will be fetishes that are common --> uncommon --> rare --> oh my god, it is too much information Anime hyper

I've been able to find the episodes of Interspecies Reviewers fully uncensored online and frankly it's about as explicit as it gets. So that complaint isn't against Reviewers, it's against TV broadcast standards.

On a side note, you want to see some even worse censorship, go watch Shin Moa no Testament censored. It has entire scenes outright removed.

I would say that while there's a general upward trend of the weirdness the series covers, it's not like every chapter is set up to be more insane than the last. There are plenty of more mundane brothels mixed in with the weirder ones. Assuming that the anime goes up to the end of volume 2, you could argue that the final episode is the most mundane.

Volume 3 though is ... something, yeah. Chapter 30 isn't even explicit, but it's the most hilarious because of the topic it handles. A season 2 would be fun if it ever comes.

Absolutely, just wanted to be polite is all. It’s kinda of hard to read tone over the net.

That is a true Tolkien attribute, though. Hobbits are halflings, for those who for some reason aren’t familiar with The Lord of the Rings franchise. In that universe, Tolkien indicates they are often mistook as human children and it tends to be a reoccurring theme throughout the series. The halfling race and its characteristics were then borrowed from LotR by most of the popular table top rpgs when they were being created. I’m pretty sure it is intended as part of the subtle rpg humor (like the sexual interests of elves and halfling penis size joke) and lore sprinkled throughout the episodes. I could be wrong, but that’s the way I took it as someone who once played a lot of d&d.

The point being made of some is less about why don't we have some hot guy on guy action, and more that it is a little hypocritical how sexually liberating it is, while being a bit hung up on same sex things. It is fine if you don't catch it, but it is a little on the off side in how it puts male and male, with everyone looking at Crim weird just because they might be interested in a penis. Something about him being okay penetrated.

Talking about D&D, I wonder if a coincidental joke about halflings meant to be lucky where the halfling guy we follow has been a little unlucky . Such as the tentacled girl and dom halfling woman. Sure he got his pick of fairies, but he was not sure how to think about that.

It is called projecting yourself into a character. What I get is that you hate having people project their idea of sexuality via social pressure into you. But that is not the vibe I get from Crim. Crim is naive and ambiguous, but has shown clearly where to draw the line. In episode 1 Crim was surprised to be invited to a brothel for free, but it is clear to see by the after reaction that any reservation wad due to lack of experience. Then in episode 2 when they were all about banding a demon, Crim clearly said no and didn't look back. This episode Crim meticulously checked the options in the books/magazines and no doubt choose wisely . If Crim had wanted a male, a female transformed into a male or the Slime (watch the uncensored version to see why that choice gave the more bang for the buck!) I have no doubt Crim would have said so.

... and yeah, I get the judgemental look all the time, I have always been open about my fetishes (look at my username) but I could play it safe like most people do:
