Looking at the website they're going all in on the FFT/Tactics Ogre vibe. Though like I've said elsewhere, the trailer gave me Vagrant Story vibes most of all. My guess is the Holy Empire is the main villain and their Eikon is Bahamut judging by the coat of arms

I hope this was just low quality bait. final fantasy is westernized enough as it is, the more "japanese" feel it has to it, the better it will be. the designs remind me of final tantasy tactics / final fantasy 12 / bravely default and I love it for that. |
The more Japanese feeling is why the last game had four male main characters.

That can apply to most of the modern Final Fantasy entries. Compared to other RPG franchises like Tales or Persona, the designs have been fairly simple ever since 7, not counting 9, and the series shifted more towards realism. Probably since after 7 real actors were being used for animation and mo-cap.

I'll never understand America's obsession with race. These types of comments never pop up in Japanese discusion.

Was hoping for a better name than Clive. Clive is basically Jon Snow. The older son deemed unimportant yada yada yada. Rosaria even looked a bit like Winterfell in the trailer.

Well, Square couldn't exactly top having a character named "Ashley Riot" so if anything they dragged on with "exotic names" for way too long.

Although it is very early, this reminds me of the rushed effort of putting that PSP final Fantasy Type 0 out and looks a bit like the art style of FF12. I honestly thought the story for 15 had major potential only for the story scenarios to be unfinished without some dlc purchases. Let's hope they learned the lesson and are capable of giving us a solid ff release. Honestly looking forward to part 2 of ff7 remake. Im sure I will get further hyped for this with more information.

I hope Jill is playable. I skipped XV entirely due to no playable female character. If not, I guess I'll have to go back to XIII as the pinnacle of FF.
