I found it interesting the anime chose to spoiler[slightly change things up by turning the random passerby into a violent criminal hired by Moriarty to get close to Enders, but with the aim of sacrificing him unchanged. I suspect the writers there were trying to make Moriarty less notorious in an aspect. ]
