As someone who's reading Ex-Arm's source manga, I can say the source really isn't as bad as the anime makes it out to be.

It may not win any awards, but I thought it was a nice piece of escapist, somewhat gory scifi fun. Had the anime been handled by Polygon or similar, in the style of Pacific Rim The Black or Netflix's Ultraman, the hate for this series would've been far less.

PS. Supposedly the source manga had a sales boost in Japan, apparently due to mass sympathy for the creators.

Could Ex-Arm be "The Producers" of anime?

"We need an anime to boost the sales of the manga"

'Sir, I don't think we have it in the budget for a good anime.'

"Who says it has to be good?"

'Ooooooooooh'

I mean, the above poster does mention they had a sales boost of the manga, and clearly they didn't spend more than a thousand yen on the whole production.

I think that it will be closer to the Musashi Gundoh of this anime generation, which has an boring realistic backstory to how this happened (lack of time and staff in Japan to manage the production and the overseas animators).

From memory, and I cannot easily find something to confirm this, the 2006 season Musashi Gundoh was being produced in was a bumper season for production and staffing was an issue for a lot of studios.

After seeing how they handled 2D in this episode, I'm starting to think maybe their 3D was a wise decision after all. Yikes. But then I remember that hideous semi-stop-motion battle between Alma and red-suit robobro and my brain trembles with indecision.

I think even HP Lovecraft himself would tip his hat at this point to the sheer madness and horror that is EX-ARMS.

I've noticed a typo in the answer sheet: The correct answer for 3 Across is "For the memes".

I have no idea what the voice director was doing in the latest episode. What in the world was the deal with Beta's voice? It was like said voice director said to be as annoying and to take the audience out of the moment as possible. Or the actor decided to see how far he could push things where anyone might have noticed how bad something was.

It is like that skit where Nicolas Cage says yes to increasingly ridiculous movies.

I got 15 of 20 right without even checking the answer sheet. Do I get an "A"???? Smile

BTW, I had 16 Across as "ItWasMeeeeeee"

@Engineering Nerd- I am afraid there is nothing that can prepare you and I for what is coming...

(My Latest Reflection Inspired by Ep11 of Kumo Desu Ga, Nani Ka?)
"As I watched Ep11 of EX-ARM I was reminded of Handshakers, a show I had thought was the nadir of bad CGI visuals. As I beheld the spectacle of CGI horror spread before my eyes, I realized that EX-ARM had completely disembowled Handshakers through overwhelming visual violence. In that moment, I realized that EX-ARM was beautifully terrible..."
