I haven't read anything prior to watching the trailers. So I was kinda interested until they suddenly introduced supernatural elements and mecha. lol
Was hoping for something more grounded.

Just going to echo what I've already seen from others, this would have been way more interesting as a grounded historical drama. Nobunaga the Fool burned me out on "what if the Sengoku period but with mechs", much less all the other stuff on the market that does much the same.

I thought him serving Nobunaga was going to be the crux of the story instead of the prologue, but instead Yasuke survives Nobunaga's fall and gets a typical "fallen hero has to regain their footing to protect magical child" storyline.

The Chadwick Boseman Yasuke film will be among the biggest What Ifs in cinema thanks to his untimely passing. It truly is a shame it will never be made.

This is Leasan Thomas, who as other topics have noted, deserves no benefit of the doubt.
