To tell you the truth, now a days everything is Funimation. Cr goes to sony, Aniplex is sony subsidery, they have manga entertainment, animelab, wakanime, partnership with Bilibili and kadokawa even with Netflix......Well, what can I say more.....

Why couldn't they just adapt the manga. it looks fire as expected due to Shiono of Ubel Blatt fame. Hildegard looks great.

Not really, Funi is not in any exclusivity partnership with Kadokawa at all so this will be just another show CR and Funi have bid for.
FYI: CR streamed Osamake (a Kadokawa license) for Spring 2021 and is streaming the Tanya OVA.
