Goodbye, Kikuchi-san. It took time for his score to grow on me having not grown with it, but it became solidified after hearing Piccolo Daimao's Theme.

What a loss! He was truly famous for some legendary anime scores and openings/endings.
Besides Dragon Ball (Z) and Grendizer I associated his name with the music in the silly comedy Highschool Kimengumi. Some of his tracks were used a lot by the popular french youtuber Le joueur du grenier. Here's a good example of his style in Kimengumi: https://cutt.ly/vbaV2pa Thank you Kikuchi-san for your contribution to excellent anime music and rest in peace. |

This news greatly saddens me. As I explore older Japanese movies, I often discover "new" scores of his and they're always great.
One particular theme of his that cannot be ignored is the Abarenbo Shogun theme. It was a hugely popular samurai drama that everybody's grandparents (and also me) loved. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HaesV2IlBcc |

This is unfortunate news, but he was also 89 years old. Thank you for the great music that many people got to love and perhaps made them want to be composers as well. You definitely had an affect on many. Thank you and RIP.
