If there's any Summer 2017 anime that needs another season, it's Princess Principal! It's practically an incomplete series with how it leaves out episodes in-between what we have.

Well, we only got the six movies to look forward to.

I always thought this would be ideal for a video game. Not good news here about the developers, but I may still get it anyway to try. It will be interesting to see if they dub the game or not, a lot of Anime games don't get dubbed.

Like Log Horizon season 3, this may end up going to Funimation(If Nat makes an appearance will this be the first time Shannon Emerick has been in a Funi dub), unless they don't deem it popular enough to make that seasons list. Or possibly Netflix. Sentai will no doubt try and get it, but they don't have the money to outbid anyone. If not for Amazon, they wouldn't have even gotten season 1.

That's a good point, Manga readers had said that the content gets a bit to dark to show on TV, which is why Dawn of the Deep Soul was a sequel movie.

Well the video game is rated Cero Z which afaik is the equivalent of an M rating if that's any indication. The latest arc has a lot of similar things from the movie in terms of body horror and gore, but I don't think it's too much to show on a late night anime. I think the Bondrewd arc was made into a movie simply because there wasn't enough for another season at the time and the arc fit comfortably in movie size.

I've been keeping up with the manga. The manga arc that the Dawn of the Deep Soul covers is not only darker than the rest but it's also fairly short so I think making it a movie was a good idea from both a content and a length perspective. The arc which occurs after Dawn of the Deep Soul is not as dark and is also a lot longer so making it a TV season seems like a good idea too.

Anyway, I'm certainly looking forward to this, MiA is one of the standout anime from recent years and it's going to be awesome to get more of it.

Cero Z is equivalent to a AO rating. Cero D is the one that’s equivalent of a M rating. It does make me wonder what’s the game’s going to be rated over here.

Awesome to know that another season is on the way. I may check out the game at some point also and I hope that it turns out well.

I see. I know of more than a few Western M-rated games that were branded as Z in Japan so thought it was equivalent. I'd like to think it will be M in U.S. and AO is only really used for Pornographic games nowadays with a few exceptions.

This is fantastic news! I mean, I always expected a second season but it's always great to get the confirmation. One of my favourite franchise for sure even if my collection of hankies always gets a real workout.

I really need to see a trailer considering its Spike and the fact its Cero Z. As for season 2, I can't wait.

It would seem so. The new characters/creatures shown in the concept art appear right after Dawn of the Deep Soul....and that arc is really the only thing the manga has done since DotDS. In fact the manga has been on that same arc for a couple years now it seems. It's been going since the DotDS arc ended and it just finished up in the most recent chapter of the manga from March 30. I would expect that this 2nd TV season will cover everything from just after DotDS through that manga chapter (no. 58)
