Probably controversial opinion:
Zack Snyder would actually be a good pick to direct a live action Akira movie (or mores), assuming a similar methodology to 300 and Watchmen, and appropriate casting. The gritty, neon-lit cyberpunk aesthetic would lend itself well to his visual style, as would the ultraviolence and destruction. And if he did it like his early adaptations, basing it on the manga, it'd largely remain authentic to the source material. |
