The novel was average but a good timewaster when needed.

I do expect this to draw attention from people considering the premise. What people thought Shield Hero was, this actually is. The main character is very supportive of his girls, but it is what it is.

And unlike many other webnovels that had their 'R18´ stuffed away when rewritten as light novels, this keeps the stuff(haven't read the light novel version, but I assume so, based on the manga...) Though, of the three, the manga is probably the raunchiest...

Aye.

The only real major change from Web to Light was removal of Slave in the series title (other than a couple tweaks to the narrative, but generally the same.).

I'll give it an episode or two when it premiers, curious at how they'll adapt it.

If it's anything like Ishuzoku Reviewers, this desperately needs an AT-X uncensored airing.

for fanservice purposes, i hope they keep the anatomically accurate pants, i think i have not seen those since makenki.

to Anti slavery apologyst, yes, this is the Isekai you are supposed to attack. there are the Isekai where the slaves are only slave by name for societal reasons, and then there is this one's so get your guns ready to blast.

Hmmm, I've enjoyed the manga adaption sufficiently on scanlator sites to buy the originals from Amazon. Looking forward to some visuals, as there's a fair difference in art style between manga and light novel.

And yes, it will be interesting to see how much fanservice survives into the anime adaption, along with other content the snowflakes will find objectionable.

I think people wouldn't care, the main reason people were upset was Raphtalia being a child and the Malty part that come out at the wrong time. How Not to Summon a Demon Lord pre-date Shield Hero and there wasn't a huge backlash.
Anyway, I read a little of Isekai Meikyū de Harem and the "slave" system is a lot better than Shield Hero. Like, if the slave is being mistreated they could leave their slave owner, and if the owner wants to have sex with their slave they have to get consent from the slave. The only downside is if the owner dies the Slave dies too. The "slaves" in that world are more of an Indentured servitude than Slaves.
One thing that bugs me about these Slave trends in anime, it is a big deal in the first few episodes then they'll either tone it down or make it a non-factor. I have to give credit to Redo Hero and the assassin anime did by the same person, go all the way in on their dark element

For the manga, I do remember an incident from a while back when 'those' people saw a partial illustration of Sherry in her dark body stocking, without showing her head and hands(due to twitter's image cropping algorithm), and somehow got really really mad she wasn't dark-skinned when they saw her full image...

Were they mad? The tweets they show in the link were people joking around than people actually being mad. I know when people get mad over stuff, they wouldn't be using Emoticons or memes, that was clearly an article trying to push a none existing backlash in pushing the "oh look how these people get mad over nothing"

Admittedly, the timing was especially bad on the Malty part, but the "fake rape allegations" thing would have been a touchy point at just about any time.

How NOT to Summon did get a few people antsy about the slave collars, but it never would have caused a major hubbub because the series hardly ever used that aspect.

You are sadly correct

The communities I normally around was either indifferent or think it was very funny, the only negative was the Fan Service. Then again, my memory isn't that great and I probably miss a feel details

Isn't that more of debt bondage, than indentured servitude? If I remind correctly, her father sells her off to pay his high debts. Then again, they all are a form of slavery at the end of the day

From what I remember the novel version (not sure if it was the Web or LN though, so there could be a big difference between the two) is much less graphic than the manga, so it will really depend on what source they take from when it comes to content.

Not sure where you're getting your information... there is a fake translation of the novels out there though.

In this series, a runaway slave becomes classified as an outlaw, meaning they can be killed on sight, and their killer can take the outlaw's property and potentially even receive a reward for killing the outlaw (vol. 1, ch. 3). Also, indentured servitude implies some sort of limited term, but there is none here; it's until their master frees them. There is a duty to provide a minimum of food and shelter. Technically there's a requirement for consent, but that doesn't apply to the women he buys or wins at auction who all gave up that right to increase their sale value... spoiler[and assuming vol. 12 doesn't differ from the WN on this, later events demonstrate that "consent" means something very different than what we mean in modern Western societies..]. Because, of course, slaves can't give meaningful consent. This is 100% cut and dry slavery, and Michio's an unapologetic enslaver.

That said, to paraphrase that 2020 Nekopara review, this is to some degree a pet fetish story: "They are obedient and docile, doting on their master, with no greater ambitions than to be owned by a kindly human and serve them."....and fight alongside them in dungeons. And that in serving Michio the women serve themselves by raising their collective quality of life due to generous pampering of them.

This is a slice of life story about an unapologetic enslaver who enthusiastically exploits his enslaved women both in the bedroom and in the dungeon, but who comes out looking superficially OK because his primary hobby is pampering the women, who as a result enjoy a quality of life greater than most unenslaved women in their crapsack world, and who also enjoy battle to one degree or another. IOW it's a massive pile of conceits to make being his sex slave look good.

Also I'll be buying volume 12 when it comes out and might actually watch the anime assuming it gets licensed (Hahahaha....Just like with the novels, I vote No on localization)
