Crunchy's announcement that they were dropping the free+ads tier caused a lot of comments about how that drives people towards piracy. I didn't find that significant because if ads aren't making them money then it seems unavoidable, and plenty of users will pay for a service that brings what they want so I doubt it hurts future ability to get anime simulcasts. However, disney+ picking up hyped series and not releasing them outside of Japan seems like it will. Fansubs started in the first place because people wanted to watch content that nobody was willing to bring outside of Japan. Sad to see that we've regressed to that after the huge success of international simulcasts. I'd like to watch this, and I keep waiting for the option to purchase streaming access.
