Sounds good. I'll check it out once it airs.

Isn't Young Ace actually more like a seinen magazine? Hmm, this is interesting.

Yep, it's even currently serializing More Than a Married Couple, Less Than Lovers. This seems like it's from a completely different universe from that, but in the end demographics really don't matter I guess |

Good news! Finally some realistic series and not cliche shoujo work!

Because of course, we gotta have the random jab at and stereotyping of an entire section of manga for no particular reason As if we're for some reason flooded with shoujo adaptations instead of getting maybe 3 per season at best |

Aww, I remember reading a few volumes of this, and it was really cute and generally wholesome. I really liked how the "ugly" girl didn't turn out to be actually beautiful all along, it added a much-needed splash of reality to it - the dude really did love her for herself and there was no forced justification of "actually he does love her for who she is but she's also amazingly beautiful once she puts down her glasses or whatever!" So I'm looking forward to this one.
Psst, Young Ace also hosts Bungou Stray Dogs and Trump (no relation to the former US president) which are prime "fujobait" as some people here like to say. It hosts Sugar Apple Fairytale which wouldn't be out of place in something like Ribon. And so on. As I keep saying until I'm blue in the face - these labels don't mean anything anymore. Magazines are now trying to either cast their net as wide as possible to reach as much audience as they can (pretty much all shounen and seinen magazines at this point), or snuggle even harder into their own niches to keep their existing readership and draw in those looking for their particular niche (mostly shoujo romance mags and historical seinen mags). The sooner people let go of completely outdated ideas about these labels the better. |

I hope you're just being ironic. This series is as cliche as a shoujo can get. Average girl bags the hottest guy in school (not the sporty musclebrain, or the fat average kid, it has to be the hottie) for no real reason, other than her being hardworking. And there's also a cute girl, who is actually very nice, also in love with the hottie. It's Kimi ni Todoke all over again, same plot and events too. |
