Every time JNC announces new stuff I always end up feeling strangely listless.

Hope ya'll like isekai, and European aristocracy... (Why are Japanese authors so into pseudo-traditional Europe... Now imagining if suddenly hundreds of authors in the UK suddenly all wrote thousands of novels set in medieval China's inner court for the next ten years.)

They did slip during livestream that Apothecary Diaries(which, incidentally, is set in medieval China's inner court), well, has, to put it mildly, under-performed, and that the audience tends to lap up isekai like water. So the answer to your question is, well, I assume, money?

I keep waiting for them to announce a license rescue of some sort. Scrapped Princess, Twelve Kingdoms, Kino’s Journey, something along those lines. Instead we keep getting isekai stories that are really starting to blend together for me. All I want I a bit of variety, please.

Well that's disappointing, although I do have a soft spot for the European settings. I'm slowly coming around to believe that the style of writing in light novels just isn't for me, but I liked the first manga volume of Apothecary Diaries and the reviews Rebecca Silverman has written about the other volumes/light novels enough to hope its light novels would sell well so the manga would keep getting made, but if it's under-performing then I imagine it'll have to start wrapping up soon.
I was also kinda' banking on the success of Apothecary Diaries to pave the way for a Raven of the Inner Palace manga.

Man, I really would love a rescue of Twelve Kingdoms in particular, though that at least has fan translations available online for everything that never got published in English.

That's on J-Novel's side. I'm pretty sure it's still selling well on the Japanese side(after all, it's got two ongoing manga adaptations of the main story...), and I doubt j-novel will drop it mid-series(would be first for them*). So there's no worry for the English releases.
But it all might have an impact on what stuff gets licensed in the future
*They're one of the few(only?) English publishers to never have dropped any series(voluntarily at least, [New Life+] Young Again in Another World was dropped both here and in Japan due to author controversy, so their hands were forced). Also, any other publisher would have buried Siskan(My Little Sister Can Read Kanji) in all quietness...

Aww, I was expecting the light novels to be as popular as the manga will still keep buying the LN volumes

JNC has definitely published some things that I have enjoyed, and I love them for allowing me to have English copies of Otherside Picnic on my shelves, and I wish I could support them more, but it's super hard when basically every license announcement of theirs looks like this. But it prints money, I guess...

Good to know! It's sad to hear there might not be more medieval Chinese court style stories to look forward to in the future, but I'm relieved to hear that all versions of Apothecary Diaries seem to be doing well, and that J-Novel Club doesn't have a habit of dropping series.

I've been enjoying the manga of Lady Albert, so happy to see the novel is covered now too.

Figured we were getting something Bookworm related when the current volume was being split in 10 parts instead of 8.

Oh, I enjoyed the Albert manga so it'll be nice to read the book too. Very silly series.
100th Time the Charm sounds interesting.
I feel like I have read a little of the Inferior Eyes manga and it was.... not bad? Still generic as hell but surprisingly not as painful as I'd assumed it'd be.
Man I gotta buy a new ipad or kindle so I can read JNovel stuff..

Regarding license rescues and old stuff, I only assume JNC are keeping their cards here. I believe they have their own considerations too. I mean, I'd really, REALLY love if they rescue Boogiepop but I understand if they haven't.
I still remember feeling bad seeing how the Full Metal Panic! novels didn't end up as big as I thought it would be.
