Masayuki seems like the standard JRPG protagonist (or modern isekai (glances at Rimuru)) where everything falls in to place and allies just gather up around them. I wonder if there's supposed to be some sort of commentary there, but I'm not sure Slime is going to go that deep.
Kind of frightening though the effect his ability has on people. Even that otherworlder mage just had his personality changed to be Masayuki's follower. I wonder if that's an effect they can be cured of...

It's one of major weaknesses of Slime books. Something is setup in book 5, then we get slow burn, board meetings, politics, minor wars and different stories till we get to book 15,where all those characters that got introductory setup of one paragraph (5sec) ten books (3 seasons?) earlier are resolved. However by that time, you don't remember who are they, what are their motivations and why. At least Yuuki is more or less consistent throughout series.

I am gonna be hyperbolistic if I am allowed here:

Part 2 of this season it's so much entertaining than part 1 that it feels like a different show.

Per the review of episode 65:

Not gonna lie, I don't even remember that fox or where it came from.

It was enslaved by Clayman. Rimuru freed it during their extended battle.

I think I'd like this arc a whole lot more if it didn't waste so much time, effort and focus on the lame-ass dungeon idea (which then skips the interesting bits, other than Veldora's literal mancave).

I'll give Mjollmile this much, he knows how to run a meeting. He even has powerpoint!

Jeez, it feels like a guy can get randomly Isekai'd at the drop of a hat. Masayuki literally didn't do anything but lock eyes with a blue-haired girl (who they explain nothing about) and suddenly he gets transported.

They definitely knew they were going to be very self-aware with Masayuki's character when they cast Yoshitsugu Matsuoka. I can even feel in his voice that he's as done with this Isekai MC nonsense as Masayuki is.

So the elementalist definitely has a legit crush on him, right? The only thing we were missing was the full harem but I guess his party is kind of a gender-balanced Harem.

I love how Masayuki pointed out there was literally no guard.

I kind of wanted to see the OP members of Tempest try to take on Masayuki just to see something throw them off for once, but he and Rimuru will probably become best buds.

How many Slime books are there, and where do we think this season is going to end?

Absolutely. Building the dungeon is the dullest thing in Slime. "Lets make a videogame in my videogame isekai" is just deeply detached and dull as a concept. Be much better to just skip over it off screen.

uhhh............

no offense, but it would have ruffled the feathers of the source materials community if they had left out this part of the light novels from the anime since it does indeed have a part of the festival arc.

leaving out the making of the dungeon and veldora's man cave would not have sit well with anime only viewers either for it would bring up their usual pet peeves about certain animes leaving content out as a mean to entice said viewer to buy the source materials as a mean to learn about the stuff that was left out!

Its Blanc. Rouge is Guy. At least get her alias right. Also anyone who knows spoiler[Velgrynd] should already know spoiler[Testarrosa, Ultima and Carrera] considering they were introduced first.

This is the biggest problem with the Slime novels that I've mentioned before. It really tests your memory and attention span with all the characters, places, skills/abilities etc., and the novels themselves being long and exposition/narration-heavy

I'm not offended, you are correct, and I do understand what it leads into. Obviously, like many of my opinions, this one never had a chance of being real!

I still think its one of the dullest parts of the whole saga and could be covered in much less time if you wanted to do it that way and just capture the plot relevant elements, even though of course I understand that would never happen.

My main point is that its a dull element in Slime and imo it pulls down this season. Just my opinion though, and I'm sure the overall audience prefers it to more magic meeting room time.

Honestly I'm amazed at how entertaining the endless meetings were despite nothing impressive going on. Maybe it's the nivelty and sheer audacity of it.

while i could understand your side of things, it was also that slice of life side of tensura which was the most popular among the light novel / source material community! so much so that i believe it is one of the reasons why the slime diaries spinoff was created!

to be honest, this arc would have served better as an ova movie ala irregular at magic high's remencense arc! but i also understand the reason since the next arc will more than likely be a potential season 4

Nice to see some old faces and that Youm and Mjurran got married. It's like one of the only other major romances in this show.

But this episode did feel like we got back into the slow and boring meetings of the first cour. Even though this season really has been 80% meetings in general.

It's so weird seeing Rimuru and Yuuki acting so buddy buddy like old pals when you know the truth. I mean, it's probably just the both of them feeling out the other and not wanting to play their hand but you've even got Kagali getting an "in" into Clayman's ruins with Rimuru acting none the wiser about who she really is.

Oh hey, the kids and Tiss-sensei! And now they finally get to experience Tempest.

Way to make yourselves come off even more unlikeable, Masayuki's party. They were nearly turned into literal food by Shion. Though it should be interesting to see how Masayuki fares in the tournament, especially if he ends up going up against someone major from Tempest.

its why i think both you and the reviewer is incorrect about that take!

while yes, in season 2 during the meeting he had with gazel and eren's dad, he started to suspect yuuki after they start telling him on what kind of a persone she is, however thanks to the BS with the western merchants and the seven days, their actions more or less removed him as someone who cannot be trusted and back as another otherworlder who likes the same manga as him

he more or less says that during their aftermath meeting with the luminous church in EP 11!
