Since it has barely been remarked upon I just want to talk about how shady the Queen of the Kingdom has been.

Why was she so pissed that the Squad destroyed the Empire's fort? She appears to have a goal other than "ending the war quickly". In a show filled with psychos, she has managed to become the most untrustworthy character.

I hope Rick isn't gonna become the Leomon of Suicide Squad.

Dang, the queen made the Squad's one advocate turn on them and get himself eaten...all so she could kill Nana-chan and banish the Squad.

Fione's trying her best Harley! Not that that's what you want to hear right now.

I'm surprised they hadn't done a bar brawl at this point. Clayface going T2 isn't a hit in a world where no one knows what he's doing, but points for trying. Also Peacemaker at peace with no pants on.

Everyone kept asking "how would the bombs actually kill Clayface?" And...surprise! The bombs can't kill Clayface! I wonder if Waller knew that and was trying to make a point.

I love how Rick is literally the only sane and put together person on the team and the only one who can keep the team going at this point. Which also makes me more worried he's going to bite it but at least he's trying to give them a chance to survive with Waller.

So...I'm guessing the queen was replaced by the Empress and that's how she's been perpetuating the war this whole time?

That would have been difficult. Episode #8 had not yet debuted when that post was made.

I'm not a serious comics follower, nor have I seen the movies (mostly just classic Batman The Animated Series), but I've been wondering from the start why anyone thought Clayface could be killed by the bomb, unless it was a nuke. I kinda feel vindicated. Very Happy

If there's one person I don't want to die by the end of this show, it's probably Rick, but given my history of reading Suicide Squad comics, that probably means he is now the most likely to die

You might even say that Rick Flag is raising a Death Flag Laughing ... ill see myself out

Honestly it doesn't make sense. Clayface is an amorphous shapeshifter even without the explosive being ineffectual he could probably just easily separate the bomb from his main body.

So it being a normal bomb and not specialized custom bomb like a cryo bomb intended to freeze and shatter him (an actual weakness of his in media) is incredibly dumb on Waller's part. Clayface has a unique physiology she should know this, the only reason he went along to being with is purely because he's dramatic. Which considering how they are portraying Waller as brute-forcing all her plans with no regard for any form of subtle manipulations, I can't imagine thats intended on her part.

Its clearly pay-off to an assumption but I find it kinda poorly done because of how dumb everyone is for it to work.

Ep 7: I enjoyed the fight, but is Katana not a master swordswoman? She seemed to be unable to hold her own against Harley... Or is she less skilled without her titular weapon?

Ep 8: Not surprised at all with Clayface as it never made sense in the first place. I guess Waller was going to just take them out one at a time for the fun of it?
Peacemakers reaction was good though Laughing

It's the thread for all the episodes that have been reviewed. There's not a new thread for each episode.

I think the idea was that Clayface turning himself into a sword allowed him to fill in the holes where Harley's sword skills were clearly lacking.

I'm kind of surprised they have Katana as an out-and-out villain here, considering she's been portrayed as a hero with the Outsiders and even Batman's sidekick in Beware the Batman. Maybe DC got sick of those "she's got my back" jokes after the first Suicide Squad movie.

So like...are they going to explain any of the lore behind the Undead King? I get the queen was replaced and that they've been using the war to kill people and consolidate power, but it still feels like they came out of nowhere.

Fione kept Harley's bat!? But she finally goes full Harley. Good for her!

Cecil finally getting justice, all he had to do was start shooting @#$%.

Peacmeaker with the most Peacemaker moment of all time.

Of course Harley kept the crystal in her cleavage. Also dragons grow up so fast.

And as of the current episode it seems like she was good all along and just working deep cover. She was just finding an opportunity to free June Moon so the Undead King can't force Enchantress to help her.

Yeah, the moment we got this reveal was the moment I realized Suicide Squad Isekai will almost certainly fail to stick the landing. The possibility has been in the back of my head since the first episode, but as I've mostly been impressed up until this point, I started to feel optimistic. Not because the show is amazing, but because it consistently exceeded the very low expectations I had going in. Unfortunately, it's fallen into the endgame troupe I hate most... poorly executed, previously unexplained lore appearing out of nowhere. If they were doing this to mock isekais, I might have been able to forgive their misstep, but that's not the impression I'm getting here. We've known that something was wrong with the queen, but there isn't enough time or groundwork to make this "Undead King" thing work. Hopefully, I'll be proven wrong tomorrow, but without a second season to retroactively answer some questions, I don't know how they can pull off the landing (not that a S2 would automatically resolve things).
