Does that guy have actual ants swarming on him at all times, or is that some weird metaphor? Either way, I'm not sure what it's supposed to mean. And they've got some nerve suggesting ice hockey was played there 500 years before it was invented in Nova Scotia. Smile

The episode title is really weird. The holy power seems to be about Suwa not seeing the future and the episode description reads: Yorishige tells Tokiyuki there are times when he cannot see the future. As some people have come to rely on Yorishige’s reputation and power as a god, he cannot reveal this shortcoming to anyone.
That was last episode right?

Awesome episode, I loved this chapter in the manga and I loved it in the anime.

Man I loved this episode, the animation in this entire show is a dream. I LOVE the cinematography of the fight in the shed, working with such a tight arena. Tokiyuki's gleeful expressions are such a joy in every fight!

And I know this kind of thing can be a bit polarizing but I honestly love all the wild tonal shifts in this show. How it can be so dark and horrific one minute, wildly fun the next, and just very sweet and earnest at the end of the day (Tokiyuki getting hugged by the goofy priest really gave me the warm fuzzies). It's a hard balance to hit, but so far it's been hitting really well for me.

So, last week we got complaints about the animation. One wonders if they were budgeting their time and talent for this blow-out episode.

I’m going to have to revisit this section of the manga. I don’t remember it at all.

Fubaki's fight with Furan is more one-sided in the boy's favor but the vicious disregard with which Fubaki slices Furan's throat is grisly in its own right — and this is after Fubaki humiliates the fighter with his utter contempt before crushing his testicles with a swift kick.

The character's name is Fubuki 吹雪 (ふぶき) (which means blizzard or snow storm).

The juxtaposition of Tokiyuki’s joy— and how the color scheme of the sequence matched that joy—against all the blood and Shokan’s increasing dread, plus all the detail that went into this sequence makes this the finest example of sakuGAH, in which I acknowledge how beautiful the whole thing is but how twisted I felt watching the thing because of said juxtaposition.

Some of these character designs are starting to piss me off. Like is the pink guy.
That's not a human. You cannot convince me that's a human, he's barbie pink and has no neck or nose.

I assume this episode is setting up an Elusive Samurai / Keijo!!!!!!!! cross-over event?

Not much of a finale... But overall a very fun show! A neat caricature of Japanese history. Genuinely both darkly violent and humorous, doing a great job balancing both. Outside of the horse riding CG, there is some great animation, and outstanding style and visual direction ! I'm going to miss that bopper of an ED... Looking forward to more!

Everyone who complained about the cg, I urge you to look at the horses at about 8 mins into the ep. They look like real footage for a sec but if you pause and know what a real horse looks like that's the most messed up thing you've ever seen. That horse is too wide, it's legs and neck are too short and it's hooves are not bending right. It honestly took me right out of the episode because it looked very AI generated. I hope I'm wrong but man. Ugliest horse I've ever seen.
There was also an issue at the very end were see a cgi gray battlefield and the most prominent horse on the left has it legs bending the wrong way. I don't want to assume it's AI but I feel like an animator modeling a horse would maybe take a quick look at google images and see the way the legs bend?
