Huummm... this season has made me question how much credit I give to the author... and is making me wonder if the show is actually smarter than I thought...
I mean... it cannot be a coincidence the final boss is a group of public employees whose very first thought was to seek the way to attain the ultimate coercion tool... While the heroes are leaded by a billionaire and a guy who only seeks mutually beneficial agreements. |

So the reviewer is missing a few important details, which is definitely understandable since it's been a LONG time since the early episodes.
Nitric Acid alone can't revive anyone, only those whose brains were still awake (Senku and Taiju in Japan, and the select few in America who were able to hear the order to stay awake). You need the Revival Fluid, which mixes in alcohol to revive someone whose brain has gone to sleep. That's part of the poignancy of the contrast, Senku's first major project was finding a way to revive anybody, Dr. Xeno's was a bunch of guns. |

If I'm being generous, maybe the Stanley narration of the dogfight was because he was watching and giving his reactions as if he were the pilot. Though, if he was on the sub, he'd have to have been watching all of that with a periscope, which would be far too difficult with how the planes moved.
Also, was the manga author somebody we've seen before? The Treasure Island Arc did something similar, but followed it with a joke highlighting that the character had been in the background before. |

You know, this is funny.
With all the slack I have cut to the series, I completely refuse to accept the drill. Sorry, don't buy for a second they could make something like that. |

As for the dogfight part of the episode, one thing that I love that they did in the anime that I feel very sure they didn't do in the manga (although I could be wrong; it's been quite a bit since I read over this arc) was hinting to Charlotte being in the plane via very brief moments of seeing through the helmet. The way that "Stanley" was speaking also kinda gave some hints to something being amiss, because the tone and delivery didn't really seem like it was him, but the couple of moments where we got to look into the helmet, you could see that the eyes and bit of the lips weren't his. I thought that was a very clever way to tease the reveal. |

I would say the reveal of Not-Stanley was surprising to me but the whole cake she's carrying surprised me a whole lot more
![]() Also, slight spoilers for Vinland Saga but spoiler[they pulled off something similar when Askeladd executed a fake assassination of Canute by using a body double. Before the reveal, its very apparent that its Canute speaking & its very clearly his face being shown unlike here in DR STONE where Not-Stanley's face is obscured by a helmet.] Both reveals were questionable but I feel DR STONE did it a little better. |

By the way, if you watch the dub with closed captions turned on, it completely spoils Charlotte's reveal by captioning all of those lines as STANLEY (CHARLOTTE). I see no reason for them to have done that, since the dub is also using Stanley's voice actor.

I wonder if those were prepared off of the written script, which might had notes in it to help people behind the mic keep it straight. |

Most likely, since they also have names like VILLAGER 403B (where 4 is season 4 and 03 is episode 3) for unnamed characters. But, they should have been able to go the extra mile to not spoil the reveal, since they only show the names when the character isn't visibly talking (in this case, Charlotte had a mask on). |

Fun fact: scene was quite the drawing in the manga and made a little controversy at the time, but if you put attention to the series, in the last episodes there have been a surge of ass shots (specially Luna's), which is funny since it was the zenith of it. ------------ Anyways, I still find that tunnel the most unreliable thing in the whole show, don't buy it for a second. Also, the whole series ends in just 12 more episodes? Concerning... |

24 more episodes, 12 in July and 12 next January. The story will become very rushed, sadly. |

Can’t wait for Part 2 of this season! I’m just glad it’s not happening later than Summer 2025.

If Xenos was sincere about Chrome then it's nice to see he's still interested in teach others. It probably also greatly changed his views on humanity's descendants, was he even aware they existed? He seemed shocked to find out Chrome wasn't from the 21st century.
But what I really want to know is if Brody is based on anyone? He reminds me so much of incredible human specimen, army vet and motivational speaker and former White House chef, Chef Rush (YouTube link). Emerje |

This episode just left me confused tbh. The show is no stranger to pulling off some unbelievable shit but the stunts pulled off here takes the cake. I dont get how Luna managed to get away the way she did while also freeing 2 others without any one of them getting spotted. I thought her being tied up meant Xeno's faction sees her as a traitor but she just casually frees herself (with the help of Simp #2) & then openly volunteers to chase Kaseki & Francois in front of everybody. How did nobody on the boat see this or thought this was weird? The whole scene felt surreal to me that it took me out of the rest of the episode.
Maybe I'm missing something here but if Stanley really wanted to get Xeno back, I feel like the better choice would be take the rest of Senku's crew as hostage & threaten to kill them one by one if Senku refuses to free Xeno. I mean sure its killing off potential manpower but they seemed to be doing pretty well even before Senku's crew arrive there. It should be quite clear to them that Senku doesnt have what it takes to kill another person so its empty threats if he threatens to kill Xeno in turn. Going on a wild goose chase around the world seems like such an inefficient way to do this idk.... so yeah all in all, that was a really weird finale to end the season on. |
