Speaking of Godzilla, I want to remind people that IDW Publishing are doing a Godzilla X Sonic the Hedgehog crossover comic (which will come out next month BTW) which track given that Godzilla has been doing crossover with other IP properties (ie: Power Rangers, Marvel Universe, Justice League, etc...). So that would explain why Sonic Racing is doing a collaboration with Godzilla, probably to coincide with IDW's release of that crossover comic.

A crossover between Sonic, Evangelion and Godzilla sounds pretty random, but they have a sort of connection. SEGA was the main sponsor of the original Evangelion anime, there are some episodes in which the characters were shown playing the Saturn, and I believe SEGA still produces some Eva merch to this day, not to mention that Sage from Sonic Frontiers is based on Rei Ayanami, and they even share the same seiyuu. As for Godzilla, Sonic had a crossover with Godzilla in the comics, and Godzilla Generations was one of the launch titles for the Dreamcast in Japan.
