NEWS: Anime Studios Explore Profit-Sharing, Hollywood Remakes

I've never really been a fan of Hollywood remakes of Asian (and to a lesser extent European) movies. I can only assume I'll get the same experience if Hollywood adapt manga/anime.

Mainly, I don't look forward to telling someone I like GitS if all they have experienced is the Hollywood movie that sucked. Also I'd get easily annoyed if some overrated Hollywood remake (The Departed) gets credit that should have gone to the original (Infernal Affairs).

But hey, if that's the only way the studios can survive then I can't complain too much. Although I think a better option would be to stop making so many bad series.
