Paprika is coming to the Bytowne cinema here in Ottawa, I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Here is what Box-office Mojo has on it, as of 7/8. I am thinking the foreign gross figure they give is Canada.

Still going strong for Paprika, wow I am really impressed by its performance thus far. I figured it would only be around for maybe a week or two, this is fantastic. Also its still doing good on Rotten Tomatoes, 86% fresh with 88% cream of the crop.

Holy Crap! I didn't know they were screening it in Toronto! Oh, man... I would've gone so long ago if I knew, hopefully I can catch it before they stop screening.

Yes ... and the good news is it's still at the Carlton Cinemas (near Yonge and College) for at least another week!

Best movie of the year so far ....

One of my favorite movies from last year,(Saw this at the Oscar screener during thanksgiving week) but I think Pan's labryinth wins there. After getting the chance to check out Pan's that movie was rob of a nomination if not the oscar itself. Although The Departed was really good and and good to Martin get an award even if its ten years late. Paprika was definitively a great movie.

'Pan's Labyrinth' was great, but 'Paprika' was the kind of great that made me want to run back to the theatre to watch it again, which I did two days later. And now I plan to buy the DVD, which I haven't done with a movie since 'The Incredibles.'

I was a bit disappointed with 'The Departed,' but probably only because I'd already seen and loved 'Infernal Affairs' years ago and saw no need for a remake, especially one that needlessly adds about 40 minutes to the running time (though that's certainly not half as bad as Peter Jackson's bloated 'King Kong' remake's running time).

Oh, is it?

Eh, I was quite disappointed by the plodding pace of the middle hour of the movie, but the ending was a lot of fun, so I might pay to see it on the big screen just for the ending. (Some people at RottenTomatoes.com had the exact opposite opinion... they loved the build-up but hated the ending for abandoning all logic, but I thought the movie was best when it abandoned logic.)

Wow, I'm really glad its still going strong Smile My impression was that it wouldn't do well, simply because when I saw it here in Cincinnati there were only two other people in the theater Anime cry It wasn't here for very long either, so again I'm glad that its still playing elsewhere

Sadly, it seems to no longer be playing in Toronto; its last showings at the Carlton were yesterday.

So it finally beat Metropolis, making it the highest grossing Madhouse theatrical anime in the U.S. Good for Kon.

Good, I've been waiting for a DVD to come out for a while now since I couldn't make it to a theatre it was showing in.
