Who needs Best Buy anyways? Anime/Comic stores are usually cheaper anyways.

Death Note on YTV makes me wonder what the show would of been like if it aired back in 2000. They'd rename it "Destroy Note" where after writing down someone's name they have a heart attack and puts them in a comma forever. Of course the "Destroy Note" would of been given to Light by a "Great Destroyer" from "The Other Relm"

Thank god anime in North America has come a long way.

cool, this gives YTV a much needed Anime boost. I've been so bored with their stuff lately.

Having seen a Best Buy in the US recently, I have to agree that they do indeed more anime and it's better laid out and marked clearly.

Wow, Canada getting Death Note of all things before the US?!

Times have changed... I'm amazed we didn't have to wait a year or two for it to even be announced in Canada...

Maybe bootlegs, but anime and comic shops tend to be the ones that most often sell at MSRP since they can't buy the bulk orders that Best Buy or some online warehouse anime stores can to bring the prices down.

We're waiting, Adult Swim...

I have no idea why, but I'm actually kinda pissed that they got it before us...

No, wait...

Yeah, I'm a little dissatisfied; let's move it Adult Swim.

This is VERY true...

Hell, Best Buy had a bigger selection than the place I used to work at...

That said, my shop did have some sweet bundles here and there that totally blew Best Buy outta the damn water, but it was only for stuff that's been out for like...

Ever.

I really congratulate YTV to bring something that good over here (I did not watch the series at this time wait for the dvd). But being an only sub watcher.. I will not listen to it. But, I hope great show will continue to air like that is a really good thing for anime industry!

As much as I like Gin Tama, I know it won't be on YTV this fall, because IIRC, it doesn't have a US Anime Company Behind it to release it yet. I'm sure it's liscening isn't too far away from being annouced(Although other series are most indefinately going to be chosen before it) but it's isn't it's time right now.

BTW- Future Shop's owner is Best Buy.

Oooo. Then maybe you'll be able to catch the last episode! I think this series will probably be airing for 8 months or so, since it's 37 episodes long.

HMV tends to be Canada's best anime supplier.

Canada still hasn't seen many shows already aired in the US. It's uncertain if we'll ever get Tsubasa which would seem like a given for YTV.

I don't know how Gintama would translate. There's many jokes in it that are language and culture dependant. It would need notes.
