Being the sucker for mech shows I am, I can not gather the words for Bandai Entertainment's acquisition of Code Geass. It was going to happen eventually since Bandai Entertainment always gets the latest shows from Sunrise. I can not wait to pick up the DVDs.

I have to admit, I feel a little apprehensive as well. I absolutely love the Japanese soundtrack from the show. But I'd be pretty sastified if it turned out something close to this and this (they're both by the same artist). Edit: Grammar |

Well first off everyone steals from Tezuka, so that isn't that huge a crime. I'm one volume into it and I'll most likely finish it, as despite the rampant cliches present it is a well-told space opera and Takemiya is an astounding visual storyteller, but I'm not quite seeing what everyone else on the net is raving about (aside from the fact that its from a forty-niner, which seems to make it an automatic masterpiece in some people's eyes). Of course it really isn't supposed to be about plot or setting, but exploring inner emotions, but aside from the impressive storytelling it hasn't been able to really draw me in beyond a surface level. Still prefer someone like Moto Hagio, but I'll be buying Andromeda Stories. What I'm curious about is Code Geass. For all the hype surrounding it I've heard naysayers claiming it to be mediocre, which in a way makes me all the more interested in seeing it. Kagemusha:
Perhaps, but other than pretty ships, Takemiya really doesn't have anything new to offer story-wise like other manga-ka.
The only reason I might check that out is she only did the artwork. |

About this issue I was wearing my Pizza Hut: Support the Rebellion badge/sign and walking around the Bandai booth in the dealer's room when the preisdent of Bandai Entertainment USA came over to me and said: Bandai: "Ah, pizza hut, yes, we just announced that today." Me: "Wow, awesome, how about all the pizza hut references? What are you going to do about that?" Bandai: "Well, Pizza Hut Japan has a contract with Sunrise with the product placement and stuff...we're going to work something out with Pizza Hut here as well." So don't worry about it, Pizza Hut WILL BE IN THERE! |

Cool! Thanks for sharing. Pizza Hut USA/North America would be stupid if they had a hissy fit and refused to allow the free advertising. But, then again, corporations have done dumber things... |

Makes you wonder what kind of limited edition items we might get. Cheese-kun plushie? A booklet full of Pizza Hut coupons?

Well, I guess that other person who predicted that 'Code Geass' would be the next announcement was right on the money.
I guess this will be my 'Gundam'. Never cared much about shows like these but somehow 'Code Geass' manages to grab me. And yet I know not why. |
