Do you honestly think anyone outside of the comic book world gives a sh!t about those nerd awards? Like some PTA mom is actually going to be looking the Eisner Winners, come across a relatively obscure winner that is clearly intended for adults and decide to read it, only to be horrified by the relativly non-graphic depictions of children dying? The Eisner panel isn't even part of a concrete organization like the film Academy, so I doubt they would even be considering such remote possibilities in the first place.

Er...I was joking. And the Akira manga is at the bottom of the ANN top ten, so I'd say its at least popular among the more hardcore fans even if no new readers pick it up.
