Hmm. I disagree with the animation score. I thought it was still a damn good-looking series. And while it wasn't the most original of plots and damn predictable, I never really felt bored. To each their own, I suppose.

The animation clearly started dropping episode 3 and onwards in volume 1... Makes me really hesitate to pick this up now... Though I already own Vol.1... Life is full of hard choices.

For some reason this series feels like an 80s series to me, much in the same way Tokko felt like a relic of the past. Maybe it's the infusion of so many elements and lack of character which just reminds me of all the series I've watched over the years. I do like the mecha side of the series which reflect some of the darker themes that series like Gasaraki, and Betterman also delved into.

I was amazed at the piano animation actually matching the music. I've never seen a television series where a piano being played remotely matched what we heard. Anime rarely even syncs up the key mashing to noise, let alone which keys are hit,
