I've read Zyword and all the volumes of Hyper Rune and Secret Chaser, and I just wanted to know if anyone else here reads her manga.[/b]

I read Zyword and Mouryou Kiden, but her works are rather loosely strung together and not very coherent. Zyword could have been a good series if it went on longer and had a somewhat better attempt at a story. Alas, I'm glad she didn't make the CLAMP final cut.

The only reason that disappoints me about Zyword is that it's only one volume. Even though it's got a rich storyline packed in one volume, I feel that it still could have some more action in some other volumes. But it still exists as a good manga, at the very least.

I thought it was pretty good until the end, where there was a very poor, jumbled attempt at an ending. I do think it would have been better if it continued. But it wasn't all that memorable. I can't remember what it was about now, except that it had a bad ending. I still wouldn't particularly recommend any of her works.

I've read (and own) Hyper Rune and Mouryou Kiden because I enjoy her old-school CLAMP drawing style. Unfortunately, she needs to learn how to layout her panels better as they way she tries to cram too much in there makes it confusing as heck to read. Also, her stories start out fine but seems to turn into a jumbled mess by the end. It makes me really sad since I would like to read more of her work for the art, but I don't want to be scratching my head wondering what's going on and wishing the story was better every time.

Am I the only one who doesn't get confused by Akiyama's work?...dang...heh heh...well, actually, no I somehow do not find her work to be confusing, but maybe that's because I always read manga so deeply: every manga I read, I always read it slowly to let it all just soak in, and so it somehow doesn't get muddied up for me...yes, I do that with all the manga I find very interesting.

I think it's just a matter of her style. She writes very fast paced and seems to skip around in her stories from one thing to the other. As I mentioned earlier, I enjoyed Zyword, because it wasn't a jumbled mess. Until the very end, where she threw in a forgettable, poorly written ending. It's just that her writing style is not for everyone.
