Looks like FUNi stole another one from Viz Media.

Another title on my Promise list that's about to be fulfilled.

Bandai Visual USA should be taking notes.

Okay. So that's #2: The Busou Renkin anime licensed by Viz (and getting a dub). And Claymore being licensed by Funimation. Hopefully they'll get a dub as well.

Yeah. My argument with these circus clowns over at BV; how doing this and that is all short-term, how boxsets suck for them, how they say that the can't meet naysayers' demands (actually how they WON'T).

I thought that Funi's video about their "big news" was so pathetic that it wasn't even funny. But it's nice to know that there's atleast one company that knows how to DELIVER.

Hell. I might start buying the singles as soon as they come out. Razz

Didn't Answerman just have something in his article about people like you? =)

Anyways, that's nifty. I've heard good things about it, so I might look into picking it up. Would be awesome if IFC aired it, though.

Or download to own, which is something that FUNi was planning on doing in the future.

No real surprise that FUNi acquired Claymore. I figured that it was going to be them or VIZ, and I only mentioned VIZ because they own the manga rights. Good acqusition for them. Cool

Can you clearify what you didn't like? They did a hell of a job on it if you ask me.

Claymore is pretty much standard shonen fair. Any company should be able to do it well since there isn't much to mess up.

Thanks for supporting the North America anime industry. Rolling Eyes

I don't see why FUNi won't dub this series. That wouldn't make a lick of sense.

Disappointing news for me.... I was really hoping for them to buy the rights for Higurashi 1 and 2 =(
Claymore seems like a pretty "meh" show

I will definitely be checking this one out. I don't know much about it, but it looks cool, and I enjoy most of Funi's dubs. Smile

although I know they are probably doing download to own I really don't care in this particular case since I want the DVD's, I hope they do a box set and do it soon, it would be better than buying a series for a 7-8 month period.

Sweet! I hope they don't take too long with the DVDs. I've been looking forward to getting them since this is one of my favorite series.

OH...HELL...YES!

Thank you Funimation!

Now I can stop importing the R2 DVDs.

...would it be too much to hope for a poster of Clare, like they did with Sia and Shuffle! Heh.

It's just a shame that Claymore the anime spoiler[has no real resolution].

To what Halo wrote, I didn't really like the dub. I had seen it in sub ligitimately at the anime con that comes to Edmonton. That and the music that's played in the series was dubbed too and when I heard my favorite song of the OST, "Moon on the Water" in the dub I immediately changed channels. The song didn't sound the same as it did in the sub. The music is the biggest part of taht series and that's why I didn't finish watching it on tv.

As to Jedi General's point,
1 it's hard to find dvd's in Edmonton
2 affordable dvd's for series I like
3 ones that are dual audio (some of the ones I've seen are dubbed only)

It's easier and affordable to find manga so I support the industry that way. I also watch some anime on tv but I only get stuff on YTV (and BECK on Much before I was turned off from wathcing it) which is basically whatever Cartoon Network gets.

I'm glad Claymore got licensed, it was one of the few 2007 titles I had planned on buying. Shame the official subtitles can't possibly match Eclipse's.
