^I think y’all were wrong about Viz’s two-cour-per-set rationale. Volume 4 features 8 episodes of one of HXH’s most beloved arcs, and the entirety of its weakest one(V3 includes another weaker arc, along with the rest of Yorknew). This makes sense from a business perspective if you don’t want pickier fans to skip an entire product, and is hardly a new tactic for the distributor of filler-bloated Bleach, Naruto, etc.

The actual question was why the price had changed from set 1 to 2 and from 2 to 3. The fairly obvious answer was that they almost doubled the number of episodes in set 3. (the change from set 1 to 2 was apparently a temporary RS thing)
My speculation as to why they changed the number of episodes was just that, a guess. Your guess as to the rational is just as likely to be correct. It does, however imply that the suits are paying more attention to the show (or specifically the fans of the show) than I would willingly attribute to Viz. |
