Still have to get EMMA volumes 3 to 6, so waiting till next year for vol. 8 isn't so bad (since it's just side-stories), but you'd think a few months after vol. 7 wouldn't have been too much of a scheduling issue. Then again I wonder why Del Rey has a ten month gap between Sugar Sugar Rune volumes 7 and 8.

That's because Moyocco Anno went on indefinite haitus due to health problems. She stopped almost all of her manga projects, Sugar Sugar Rune included. Del Rey is probably trying to buy time.

The Japanese release of Sugar Sugar Rune vol. 8 was September 2007:
