Please allow me to show my frustration towards Adult Swim. Um, Inu Yasha? Seriously? Show some damn Trinity Blood or Blood+! I was looking forward to them rerunning Blood+ during the weekday, then they redid their weekday schedule with no anime. I want Blood+ back! Or Eureka 7... I'll settle for either.

If I remember correctly, Adult Swim's rights to air Trinity Blood expired a while back, as wel as Eureka Seven.

Or at least they will expire very soon.

Not sure about Dragonball, but considering the first part of it's manga series was about 16 volumes long and the Dragonball anime was 100+ episodes as well, not to mention when it got to that point in Z, yeah, I'd say it falls under that category as well.

The Dragon Ball anime ran for 153 episodes, which did cover 16 volumes of material. The next four volumes went up to around episode 35 in the DBZ anime. That's 188 episodes for 20 volumes including filler material like stretched battles and mini-storylines added for the anime. However, DB volumes held more chapters than Bleach and most of the other shonen series of today due to the installments being a few pages shorter (Toriyama did about 15 or so a week as opposed to today's 18-20). *takes off my DB nerd thinking cap*

Adult Swim is f***ing with us again. They aired Death Note at 12:30 instead of 1:00am! Now I'm going have to stay up late to watch it. Thanks for nothing, AS(S)!

I guess Adult Swim decided to switch schedules at the last moment, 'cause the moved Code Geass up to 1AM. I missed all but the last minute and a half because their site schedule is so hard to read. I've been writing a research paper on Germany for the last fourteen *straight* hours, and I was planning on taking a half hour to revel in supernatural-themed mayhem and maybe eat...and I am not a happy camper at the moment.

*sigh* I wish they would work these things out with a little more warning for viewers.

Would that be her massive boobage? Cause if so, she might have problems with the dub version. So far she's only appeared in the ending credits, which have alternated each & every episode with her chest being edited & unedited. So one wonders how she'll look when she appears in the actual show.

All this fuss ... over that? I feel ripped off, though it does appear they hired Lohan's guy.

Too bad 4Kids ruins it.

We may (rightly) bash 4Kids all the time, but at least when they decide to censor/digitally-edit something they do a 95%+ job of it. She moves (normal,) she is viewed from behind (normal,) form the side (normal,) there is a crease in her shirt (normal,) she and everything else is completely still and viewed directly from the front (edited with blatent digital square of doom.) I know there isn't much they can do about the crisp/dancing edge effect from a digital edit on an analog source, but it made the ham-fisted crap ADV pulls before putting some of their shows On Demand look like expert craftsmanship. No wonder Nebs couldn't figure out how she would turn out.

In other news, the working of CN finally make sense ... by putting Shin Chan at 1:30, they will be able to point to it as a wildly successful show desipte the late hour, and attempt to dissuade dour thoughts from execs in the future who are put-off by being relegated to the time-slot of death.

Wow, it takes that long for the anime to run up to that point in the story? I'm glad I chose to read the manga.

Actually, 62 episodes for about 20 or so volumes of manga material is pretty good compared to other series at that same point. Naruto was just crossing the 100 episode mark at that same 20 volume point, and One Piece minus the filler arc at that same point was just over the 100 episode point as well. Hunter X Hunter never made it to that point in the anime, but if it had indeed done the chimera ant arc it probably would've been in the area of late 90s or so, once again pretty close to the 100 episode mark. Not sure about Dragonball, but considering the first part of it's manga series was about 16 volumes long and the Dragonball anime was 100+ episodes as well, not to mention when it got to that point in Z, yeah, I'd say it falls under that category as well. Actually...you have a good point Razz. I guess I was just in a 26-episode frame of mind when I wrote that post (the only three shows I've watched that last longer than one "season" are GitS S.A.C., FMA, and Rurouni Kenshin -- and I'm in the process of watching Death Note as it releases), so my knee-jerk reaction to hearing 62 episodes is "Whoa! That's a long time!" But now that I think about it, approximately 3 episodes per manga volume is a good clip.

Well you got a point there. At least 4Kids' edits are well done & consistent. Viz was all over the place with this episode of Blue Dragon. After checking out the Japanese version of this episode, I posted a video on YouTube on the major points of what was edited/changed/censored in this ep:

Eureka 7 has already expired or will very soon. Trinity Blood will expire in the fall. I wish they would rerun TB on the teevee; there are streaming episodes on AS Video.

Other anime announced for expiring rights this summer are Paranoia Agent & Samurai Champloo: the 2 anime in 2005 that helped me start my otaku journey. PA is streaming for the last time, but no SamCham anywhere. *sigh* Sad

Interesting vids with episodes 4 & 6, but I need to compare them with the dub to understand better. Ep 4 is on Toonami Jetstream with the introduction of Marumaro... findings later... Wink

Edited to add: Good job & yup, you're right! No boob grabbing & the insults are only about Kluke's "weakness", not lack of boobage or boring panties. I haven't played the dub through, but I'll do so later. Whatever they use as "bait", it won't be undies... Laughing

Thanks! I did write a comparison piece on what was changed between the Japanese & English versions of episode 4. I'll be doing one for ep 6 as well, once it appears on Jetstream:

Yah, I've been burned by their sudden changes in the past. I often tape their anime and watch it later, and I remember one time I sat down, stuck in my video tape, and looked foward to watching an episode of Fullmetal Alchemist (this at a time when I hadn't seen the series fully yet)... only to suddenly find myself watching an episode of the Venture Brothers.

Considering how big a DB nerd I am as well It's actually quite shocking I didn't already know that.... Anime smile + sweatdrop But that's beside the point though if you look at the other examples I used. And even then I think I still could have seen DB going at least that same length as well.

Yeah, that's understandable. Except for me, I'm one who doesn't really care about the overall length of a series so I guess in that case it's a lot easier to make a distinction between the two. Anime smile + sweatdrop

Vampire Wars...an hour wasted. What exactly was the plot again? As for Code Geass, it's my newest anime addiction. It's got all my favorite things (except vampires) all wrapped up.
