Yeah, just like how Funimation milked the 2008 special. Just like how Funimation milked the 2010 special too.

Oh wait, they didn't even license either. Rolling Eyes

I wonder myself. Is it just this Episode of Bardock thing or will there be yet more anime?

If the Dragon Ball Force Project thing does extend to more anime, I would hope it expands on Goku's mother or seeing a super saiyan female. Work on things like that that they truly didn't touch upon very well.

Dragon Ball will never die! Very Happy

I didn't even know there was this manga. Why isn't this and Dragon Ball SD being released here in the States?

And I would really like to see a straight adaptation, with the newer animation found in the Jump special, of the entire manga.

Or a sequel series following Pan.

Or the MMO released here.

Can you tell I really love Dragon Ball?

Yeah no kidding, we've got 3 DB manga that should be published in English. Since Shonen Jump is being cancelled, I would like maybe a graphic novel that contains some Bardock and SD chapters and maybe a release of the Jump special (in either manga or ani manga form). And I think Funimation will most likely get this new anime.

This!

And don't forget the original OVA version of the latter.

Are you really gonna tell me that Bruce and Shuky's music wasn't better and way more epic than the original Japanese's, the Ocean dub's, and any other North American scores produced?

You know Shuki provided the score for the Oce... oh whatever.

That's exactly what I'm going to say.

Shunsuke Kikuchi's orchestral music best captures the atmosphere of the show. Yamamoto's Kai score was good while it lasted, too.

Faulconer's over-modulated pieces felt artificial and garish. I even prefer Nathan Johnson's stuff to Faulconer's.

Do you also prefer the incaccurate and poorly acted English dub?

No, you're right. My mistake. I stand corrected.

There are people who do, sadly.

Faulconer's music is a byproduct of the XTREME fetish 90s America had. They needed inappropriate rock music to try to make everything edgy and extreme (though edited a lot of violence out, ironically enough) when it wasn't. Since, as we all know, a fat pink blob who turns people into candy is the epitome of extreme and hardcore.

Well, while I think a large portion of the FUNi dialogue was cheesy and pointlessly inaccurate, it had a lot of witty and humorous quotables. Plus, I understand why they changed the script so heavily; they were targeting 9-12 year old U.S. kids.

I think the FUNi BGM fit the voices and dialogue much better, and I understand why most fans prefer it(yes, I know that's highly anecdotal). I think Kikuchi's music sounds too outdated and non-diverse for a show that had its peak on U.S. TV in 2001 and is still being released in increasingly better quality.

No. Hell no. For the love of god no. That character was grating even as a three year old twerp at the end of DBZ. Come GT, having to stomach everything else that blew about that series, her character was just another blow. Unless they completely rewrite her character, I don't ever wish to hear anything more from Pan.

that's pretty much why I have a disdain for the original BGM. It's dated, even for something that's as old as it is, it's dated. And forgettable....but that's just my opinion.
