The word "bodacious" had me under the impression that I'd be seeing pounds upon pounds of barely concealed and completely exposed breasts jiggling across my Toshiba screen. Oh, well.

It looks like it could be fun, anyway. Laughing

Id rather have a new season of Crest of the Stars.

Or a remake or alternative version of Captain Tylor where he ends up with Azayln not Yuriko, that honestly killed this show for.

Or like someone said more Vandread or Nadesico assuming they pretend that movie never happened.

I've been looking forward to checking this out, ever since it was first announced...

Granted, it looks a little kiddy compared to the usual I watch. But hey, its been awhile since I watched anything with space pirates. And it is looking pretty okay....

Bodacious Pirates? Really?

I haven't heard anyone use the word bodacious in like 20 years.

Dude! I say it's pretty radical! Cool

I wasn't feeling the early part of the preview, but once the lead was dressed as a pirate, we started to see the crew and ship designs, my expectations rose.

That's exactly what I was thinking. The character design is rather generic looking, and the CG looks horrid. But, overall it seems like it could be good. I'll probably check out the first episode if someone simulcasts it...

I can relate about seeing school kids on animes all the time.

But we don't know how tough the Anime market is in Japan these days. I'm glad a space/sci-fi theme show is being made at least, even if has alot fan service related stuff in it.

I wish there was better way do the space battles. CGI looks like crap in comparison to the older full-animations or least better done cell conversions some shows were able to do.

Just for the record:

bo·da·cious /bōˈdāSHəs/
Adjective:
Excellent, admirable, or attractive.
Audacious in a way considered admirable.

That said, I would have had similar expectations had they not been contrary to what I had already seen.

No, believe me, I've always been well-aware of what the word's definition is. It's just that in terms of anime--a medium with a concept such as "fan service"--I was expecting the term to be applied in a different manner. Wink

Call me weird but I was more attracted to "Space Pirates" then anything. Then again my mind first went to Space Battleship Yamato, and i know compared to that I will just be disappointed.

Looks like Nedesico meets Captain Pugwash. Just another example of hyping up a bland mediocre pudding. Laughing
