Well if the dark skinned fellow is a caricature of who I think it is, then he's already stated that there are no gays in his country at all. So I guess he wins by default once the smoke clears.

I enjoyed the headlines on Kevin's newspaper:
"Politics
War!
Blarg!"
and
"Politics
Poop
Woo!"

The only way it could be funnier is if one of the politicians took off his shoe and started banging it on a table to get attention.

I love how the two countries that are represented here are the United States of America, and Italy. Wow, I never knew those Italians would appoint a Middle-Eastern immigrant as their ambassador, let alone attack the U.S.A. with a multi-teraton warhead (judging by the height of the mushroom cloud).

Funny, I didn't even notice these until you pointed them out, and yet...

Quote:

... is pretty much how I feel about watching the news/reading the paper this last year.

(Although, in retrospect, maybe if more yaoi fangirls would run for office, we could get past this gay marriage thing in the U.S. already. Very Happy )

This is very funny! Good work. Smile

If politics were really about Lucky Star, Haruhi and Naruto, then I must say I'd make a terrible politician, because I haven't seen even one of them.

Too bad the third alternative party wasn't presented, the tolerant otaku... sadly they make up 3% of the population.

There's always Gasaraki: the last plot arc centred around the effects of American grain exports on the Japanese refugee population. Then they had to go and ruin it with spoiler[crazy bald moon men]. We don't talk about episode 26.

Can't say I particularly enjoyed this one. It was like something you'd read on IRC.

Wait, Gasaraki had an episode 26? ANN's encyclopedia page on Gasaraki claims there are only 25 episodes.

Yes, the political and economic machinations were often overshadowed by the neo-nationalist talk and the weird Shinto ceremonies. However, that was the case since episode one (for the latter) and episode eight or so for the former.

Anyway, I'll just retreat into the shadows from whence I came......
