YES!!! YES!!!! Oh please let it be as good as the first series...I pray to all gods of anime....

I'm as happy as you are!

I've watched the series soooo many times because I love it so much!
I'm not into Dubs that much, but this anime had a great Dub. I hope it's more than 90 episodes.....

Banzai! Banzai! Banzai!

What, hell froze over - what's next: Berserk or Inuyasha? This is really great news, assuming the series will be as good as the first one. I wouldn't mind improved graphics though, as some frames in the first series look very odd and I usually don't notice things like that, but that's just a minor nitpick.

I follow the manga and while it's true it sometimes feels there's very little progress regarding Ippo's boxing career or romantic life, it still remains very entertaining. Maybe it's a good thing that Ippo manga is not being published in English, because with 85+ volumes already out and cost of manga here, I'd go bankrupt soon.

Anyway, there are some great fights to be animated (anime ends around volume 35 out of currently 85+, so there's a lot of material to animate). Let's hope they stick to the manga, like they did with the first season, I guess I could do with toning down some of the toilet humour - e.g. Mamoru and the locust, it seems that Morikawa-sensei is somewhat obsessed with penises and feces.

Anyway, Hajime no Ippo is one of my most favorite anime with great mix of action and humour and it's sad to see that many people wouldn't touch it with 10 ft. pole, just because it's allegedly about sports. Sad

My top 3 shounen series:
1. Hajime no Ippo TV
2. Hunter X Hunter TV + OVA 1
3. One Piece TV

Rurouni Kenshin TV is great too, but the second arc was too dragged out and the third one (not based on manga) was just weak.

........ OH YEAH!! as someone who has Ippo as my nr. 1 favorite anime, this is the best anime news i have heard in several years. If it's the same crew working on it this will be nothing short of epic awesomeness.

Can't wait too see the animated Ogre vs. Devil match. Most people following the manga will know what i'm talking about Twisted Evil

I have a questions: Are they remaking the early eposoides or is it continuing from the old series?

I bought all this series from Geneon. It was really good. And it's also one of the better dubs. I agree that it deserved more press.

I have already seen the episode 1...so..its a new one...a continuous event...after he fought to Sendo..former featherweight champion...
