Media Blasters releases their hentai titles under their brand Kitty...

Which is why I generally stay away from their releases. I know it's sorta a bias and all, but it's kinda gross when you walk into a FYE or something, and see a whole shelf line of hentai, all released by Media Blasters. =/
If something super excellent comes from them, then I may buy it. But generally, I stay away from them. =/

Media Blasters is a very good company, but if you wanna buy the best (and a bit more clean) stuff from them then buy stuff from Anime Works and not Kiddy.

STILL-- I can't see this ending well. I'm not a prude (and I'm not for censorship), but even I'm extremely squeamish about this title being released uncut, because the kind of shit it presents makes me sick, and because in this country, whethere you like it or not, there is a majority who will react with EXTREME predjudice over this no matter what US case law says. And (if the past is any indication) they won't stop, think and realize that this is an isolated, exceedingly sick and ugly OAV -- they'll paint all anime as this sort of garbage. Or need I remind you of Pat Robertson and his early '90s crusade against all anime because of a few "naughty tentacle" titles?
Mark my words...if MB releases Kite uncut, and if someone like Bill O'Reilly or Michael Savage gets wind of it, kiss much of anime's (only recently gained) tolerance with mainstream America goodbye. While O'Reilly's audience usually aren't anime viewers, they can exert economic pressure on some of the places they shop at to get them to drop anime.
In short, be careful what you wish for, you just may get it.

Anime is too big now to go down because of some activist who think animation is for kids. KITE uncut is not the worst anime to be released on American shores either.

I'm.... sorry if somehow I come off as bigoted but i really can't see why anyone would get so excited about something that, content wise, only contains a few seconds of child molestation, that being the only thing seperating it from the directors version.

Considering I am a "Christian Conservative" I'm rather amazed at the attempts to predict the future here...
The fact of the matter is, there are some people who have better things to do. Actually, I think Mike Savage wouldn't even bother watching it, as he has bigger and better targets to work on. Even if he were to watch it, he's nowhere near as biased or haughty as Rush Limbaugh. At least Savage tries to take a slightly more balanced approach towards things. While he may try to eradicate things like Kite, I suspect he wouldn't be as likely to use an umbrella statement about all anime...
In defense of Christianity, I would like to say that you are being just as intolerant of we who are, if not more so.
Considering that the "well intentioned, yet slightly misinformed" ones haven't decided to come into these forums and start flaming you all, you are placing judgement of your own pretty quickly.
edit: As far as hentai goes, I can't quite bring myself to categorize it like I do with live action porn. In part it's because hentai still usually has some attempt at actually telling a story and two, I do differentiate reality (filmed sex still means the act did take place) and something animated. It doesn't mean I don't see the animated as being perverse, but I do see it being somewhat different nonetheless.

I don't see a difference content wise. For every form of hentai there's a form of live porn. Maybe there isn't often the same "quality" story wise, but the stories are still there (beyond a chick ordering a pizza and doing the delivery boy even). They both have movies and magazines, Hentai has art books, porn has photo books. And neither are culture specific, Japan has their share of porn and then there're erotic comics. Yeah, the mediums are different, but they're still the same thing.

Don't get me wrong... I see them as almost essentially the same... I suppose I just see it as being a lesser degree of porn. I don't know if I was able to convey myself well, because I don't want to downplay the fact that it's still sexual content. I guess there is a difference in how heavy it's considered for me as there is a "slight" difference between virtual sex and something that actually had to have actually occoured in order for porn movies to be made. And in all fairness, while most hentai does strive to have a story, most (not all) live action porn does not. There are exceptions, but I really don't care to watch them either.
Even so, they are sexual content, they do appeal to the sensual side of humans, I can't disagree with you there, but at the same time, nobody will get HIV in the process of making a hentai vid.
