Easy. Otaku that smoke watch fansubs. Otaku that buy DVDs survive on a paltry diet of ramen and the dollar menu at Wendy's. |

Ahh, but Greg Ayres is a voice actor. Obviously he makes enough money to both smoke AND survive on a diet of ramen and Wendy's dollar menu. (Actually, I'd thought of Greg Ayres before, but I figured I was the dub nerd and would be the only one who would think of it. *facepalm*) |

Ha, that's a great explanation of why 'action' anime are often much less than that. All the staring and grunting and name-calling. *Zzz..*
I also loved the expressions on the con staffer and Nina at the end. Anime is a lot about facial expressions after all. And yes, smoking makes everything and everyone icky. Ever tried cleaning years of smoke from a ceiling? Imagine doing that to your lungs

Bill the guru looks exactly like a classic action anime character. Very cool and tough. (Will he have a really silly weakness? A moe obsession? Stay stunned!)
Nina's always so cute and interested in learning more about anime. I wish there were more people in the real world like her. |
