Meh, Tony K. isn't the only one sighing in relief. I never understood the hype that is dragonball Z, but my friends and everyone else says different. But to be honest, I’d rather see a live action DBZ Movie than the crap that's coming out today.
Good news; There won't be a DBZ Movie in these parts anytime soon.
Terrible News; we still have to contend with horrible flicks like The Day after Tomorrow, New York minute and White Chicks.

Well, I used to be a VERY big fan when I saw the Ocean Group dubs on Cartoon Network and the first 3 movies (that I think are the best DBZ dubs ever) on DVD throughout junior high and high school.
And though I only preferred it in Japanese throughout the last phase of when I still liked it (when FUNimation changed everything,) I bought this really cool polyester shirt in New York City that's all blue and has SSJ Trunks, Gokuu, and Vegeta on it.
The reason I'm glad this movie (supposedly) isn't being made is because of what soultaker mentioned in the whole legions of immature and (sometimes stupid) fanboys that'll possibly make a fuss once this movie comes out.
I still wear this shirt, but I DON'T want people to associate me with liking that not-so-great monstrosity of a dub that gives of that aura of kiddiness and no-brain violence (no offence Mr. Hebert .)

No offense taken. I totally realize that DBZ polarizes the anime audience. Some love it, some hate it, dubbed or subbed. My personal take is that it would not translate well to live action. The hairdos alone are a blinding reason.

I dunno. I still say Vegeta'd look pretty nice with a slicked back hairstyle, sorta like Christian Bale in Equilibrium.

Happens ALL the time. Studios aquire the rights to hot properties that never, ever see the light of the day.

This news I'm sure is true, however, I just read something this week that now has me confused.
Direct quote from Teen People, June/July Issue:
P.72:
"It's rumored that Superman-in-training TOM WEILING is looking to play another hero. We hear he's hoping to score the lead role of Goku, a martial arts warrior, in the movie version of the anime fave Dragon Ball Z......."
Now, I know they say that it's rumored, but this is a recent magazine. Maybe they just didn't get the memo, I dunno.

How about we have a small competion:
whoever can cast the best for a Live Action DBX wins, ya know just for fun, to see what kind of people we come up with

Nah, just about everyone goes with Goldberg on that one.
Austin should be Piccolo.
"If you want to see me shoot a deathbeam through Raditz then give me a 'Hell yeah'!"
"Piccolo 3:16 says 'I just sent your ass to another dimension'."
...
OK, enough of that...

I don't know. Laurence Fishbourne fits better as Picollo. After seeing him in "The Matrix", He looks perfect as picollo.
By the way, the dragonball z website had a poll on who should play who last year.

Except that he's got a huge head.
