LMAO! What are the oddds? I'm actually just watching this with a bunch of friends in anime club. Its pretty interesting, IDK I guess live action would for it. Still what are the odds?

Well, it's popular, it's down to earth...no big deal. Definitely more suitable for a live action than, say, Death Note.
I'm not digging the main lead though.

Nobuyuki Fukumoto's works are actually pretty popular in Japan. Both Akagi and Kaiji are his most well known works. They both had successful TV series (with the latter getting a second season in the Spring), and had plenty of amusement parlor games made in their license.

Personally, I really loved the Kaiji TV series. Very underrated show with fantastic direction and faithfulness to Fukumoto's original manga. So, I am eager to see what they'll do for the live action movie. I just don't expect them to wear fake noses though... Wink

I didn't like the anime at first, but when it got to the eCard arc, it completely won me over! I'm looking forward to this!! Very Happy

I would laugh so hard if that happened.

But I doubt it. They didn't do that for the live action Akagi movie so it's highly unlikely they'll do it for the live action Kaiji movie.
