The first one is worth a watch, but 2 is pretty much crap. Zero wasn't released here, so I am kind of interested in that, but it actually has a lower rating than 2 so I'm not sure if I want to put myself through that.

As far as animation and overall quality of video goes, Zero was on par with the original. If I remember it correctly, plot-wise leaves a little to be desired. It's not that it's bad like the second season, but rather it doesn't feel complete. The sisters are on seemingly completely amicable terms with each other, seemingly living with a new girl, in a seemingly distant future.

I use "seemingly" because there is no supporting information regarding the setting, the new character, how or even any remote hint as to why they are all in the situation that they are. If anything it feels like three episodes in the middle of some sort of greater story that is never told. I always worked under the assumption that maybe it was part of a manga segment or something and shrugged it off.

An English version of Zero - that will be great! I will finally be able to understand all the dialog! I picked that up with Kiddy Grade 2 a while ago...

Steel Angel Kurumi is one my big disappointments for sequels. I still like the first season and enjoy re-watching it. I will suffer through the second season to get more of the characters, but I can't understand why they didn't continue with the original plot line instead of going off in a different direction. SAK Zero... is not SAK except for the characters being in it. Not bad, just nothing like either 1 or 2, more like a side romance story--SAK does Clannad--very short, just a chance to get to see them again.

Agreed. The "HD" quality they offer now is close enough that it would look fantastic.

I hope they air the dub so I can see that 'Shut your pie hole, bitch!' scene in Kurumi 2. That cracks me up every time.

i pretty much agree with you on that, cept i loved it enough to buy both series, i hate not having a sequel/series called '2' regardless of how it did in comparison to the first/original

How interesting. This may be a good time for ADV Films to pull SAK 1 & 2 out of their vault and give them a keepcase re-release.

The original is going used right now on Amazon for twice what I paid ! Kind of silly it seems to stream an anime that you can't buy Confused. Based on some shelves I've seen, some people could retire on their anime collections soon...

This is something I might be interested in watching, provided we aren't locked out, as the DVDs were never released over here. I did see some of the early episodes on what were probably DVD rips back before I learned of the Fansub Code (licensed in America = licensed everywhere).

I'm going to start wondering if it was really the production studios forcing the issue if too many more former-ADV titles end up on CR.

Shame about Zero though, I might be interested, but season 1 still sits firmly entrenched in the backlog zone.

Well, right now, ADV Films are releasing their titles like: Wedding Peach, DN Angel and more.
Let's just hope that ADV Films re-release SAK DVD too because I loved this series so much that I could buy it on thin-pak DVD complete collection. Very Happy This series is worth buying in my opinion Anime smile

I like SAK II more than the first. Yuri>>>>boring, chaste, 10 year old male harem protagonist that has appeared in 100,000 other anime. I also enjoyed the fact it took itself less seriously than the original, which was slightly pretentious with it's corny "serious" plot (although it did have some decent comedy too). Also Project A-Ko references = massive win.
