Super Robot Wars T Game Ships in Japan on March 20

A livestream for the Super Robot Wars franchise revealed on Tuesday that the new Super Robot Wars T (Super Robot Taisen T) game will launch for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on March 20. Bandai Namco Entertainment also began streaming an updated version of the game's first promotional that adds the release date.

In addition, the livestream revealed the details of the game's releases for PS4 and Switch. Regular physical and digital copies will cost 8,600 yen (about US$76). A limited-time Premium Anime Song & Soundtrack Edition will cost 12,600 yen (about US$111) and include 35 additional songs. The first copies of the game will include a code players can use to download the special scenario "Chapter 0: Proposal No. T1023," the present scenario "Special Starter Pack," and the original mech Gespenst.

The game will also get an English release in Southeast Asia for the PS4 and Switch on the same day. The "T" in the game's title refers to "Terra," meaning "Earth."

A new Super Robot Taisen DD (Super Robot Wars DD) smartphone game will also launch for iOS and Android devices in Japan in 2019.

The most recent game in the franchise, Super Robot Taisen X (Super Robot Wars X), launched for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in Japan on March 29. The game then shipped in Southeast Asia (Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines and Indonesia) with English subtitles on April 26. Bandai Namco Entertainment also released the Super Robot Wars X-Ω smartphone game in October 2015 and continues to add new characters and mecha.
