Yakitate!! Japan Creator's Erotic Book Sells over 20,000 Copies

Takashi Hashiguchi's Yakitate!! Japan manga is about a 16-year-old baking prodigy named Azuma Kazuma. Kazuma travels the world to discover new types of bread and challenge his contemporaries. The series was a hit that ran for 26 volumes and inspired a 69-episode anime series. However, Hashiguchi isn't done with the series and fans aren't either. He's created two erotic dōjin starring Tsukino Azusagawa and they've sold like hot cakes.
Tsukino Azusagawa is the attractive, illegitimate daughter of Sadamichi Azusagawa. The Azusagawa clan are the heads of the Pantasia bread conglomerate in the manga series. Tsukino is hardworking, likely to make up for how the rest of the clan perceives her, and a talented baker. Her personality is shifted, however, in Hashiguchi's dōjin.
Tsukitate!! Ōsama Game stars Tsukino as an enviable class idol type who excels at both sports and academics. Her classmates are jealous of her good looks, abilities, and wealth so they devise a trap: an erotic version of "King's Game." You can guess the rest from there.
The first Tsukitate!! Ōsama Game dōjin has sold 21,000 copies according to DMM's adult sale site Fanza. The second dōjin debuted this week and has already sold 2,750 copies.
Hashiguchi wrapped up his Saijō no Meii: The King of Neet (The Best Skilled Surgeon) manga in Shogakukan's Weekly Shōnen Sunday after 19 volumes in 2014.
