Kodansha Celebrates Bakemonogatari Manga Print Milestone with 13-Meter Banner

The manga version of NisiOisin's Bakemonogatari light novel is doing exceptionally well. In fact, the first three volumes of Oh! Great's adaptation already have over one million copies in print. The Kodansha offices unfurled a giant banner measuring 13 meters in length (about 42.5 feet) down the front of the building to celebrate the milestone.
The banner won't stay in front of Kodansha forever. The publishing company plans to give the banner away to one lucky fan in a lottery. Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine website has details on how to win the banner and ads the suggestions of "making sheets out of it" or "hanging it from your parent's house."
Those interested need to follow the Bakemonogatari manga's official Twitter account and share the tweet that's included at the bottom of the contest webpage. The winner will be contacted by DM after the contest closes on January 31.
Oh! Great launched the manga adaptation of Bakemonogatari in Weekly Shonen Magazine in March 2018 after an initial contest to guess the artist.
NisiOisin's Monogatari Series novels center on Koyomi Araragi, a loner and failing student. One day, his classmate Hitagi Senjōgahara falls into his arms accidentally, and he discovers that Hitagi literally weighs nothing. According to her, she has had this problem since the first year of high school. After Koyomi helps out with her supernatural problem, Koyomi then meets other girls who are all troubled by some manner of supernatural "oddity."
Oh! great is known for creating the series Air Gear, Junk Story - Tetsukuzu Monogatari and Tenjho Tenge, which later inspired anime. He also worked on the story and art for numerous manga such as Burn Up!, Five, Himiko-Den, Majin -Devil-, Naked Star and Silky Whip. Additionally, he worked on end card illustrations for the anime series Arakawa under the Bridge x Bridge and Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches.
The fourth manga volume went on sale on Thursday in both regular and special editions.
