The official website for Midnight Occult Civil Servants, the television anime of Yōko Tamotsu's Mayonaka no Occult Kōmuin manga, revealed that the anime will get a two-episode original video anime (OVA) that will have an exclusive stream in Japan on Hikari TV on September 25, and will also have a Blu-ray Disc and DVD home video release on October 25. The site is streaming a commercial for the "Hitori Bocchi no Kyūketsuki" (Solitary Vampire) OVA.

The manga will also bundle an OVA with the 12th volume on November 22.

The anime premiered on April 7. Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs in Japan and Funimation is streaming an English dub. Crunchyroll describes the series:

When Miyako Arata joins the Shinjuku Ward Office, he thinks he's gotten a normal civil servant job. But it turns out he's joined the Night Community Exchange Department, one of which operates secretly in each of Tokyo's twenty-three ward offices. Their job is to resolve occult issues concerning non-human beings. Accompanied by his senpai and department head Sakaki Kyoichi and the occult obsessed Himetsuka Seo, they work night after night, facing off with beings whose existence defies the laws of our world.

Tetsuya Watanabe (Rumbling Hearts, Strain: Strategic Armored Infantry, Schwarzes Marken) is directing the anime at LIDEN FILMS. Tatsuto Higuchi (CROSS ANGE Rondo of Angel and Dragon, Schwarzes Marken, My-Otome) is in charge of series composition. Eriko Itō (Hamatora, Danchigai, Love and Lies) is designing the characters.
