Italy Tour Takes Aria Fans to Venice to See Locales That Inspired Anime

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Kinki Nippon Tourist Kanto is following up it's award-winning Banana Fish tour of New York with an Aria-themed excursion in Venice, Italy. The "Aria the Manhome ~una bella passeggiata~" tour will take a maximum of 80 attendees on an accompanied one-week trip of Venice from February 27, 2020 to March 4, 2020. The trip costs 438,000 yen (US$4,000) per person.

The itinerary includes a talk show and party with the Aria anime production staff and a secret Aria event. Participants will visit areas in Venice that directly inspired the television anime, including St. Mark's Square, Doge's Palace, Bridge of Sighs, Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo, Rialto Bridge, and Burano island. Participants will be able to ride a gondola while on the tour.

Kinki Nippon Tourist Kanto opened registration for the tour on July 8.

Kozue Amano's Aria manga launched in 2002 and inspired multiple anime series and OVAs. Aria the Origination, the most recent television anime, is streaming on Crunchyroll and licensed by Nozomi Entertainment. Nozomi Entertainment describes the story:

Akari Mizunashi left everything behind to travel to a sparkling planet covered in water, Aqua. More than anything, she wants to be an "undine" - a female gondolier who navigates the canals of the Aquan city of Neo-Venezia. Will she be up to the challenges that await her on the path to achieve her dream?
